PTA - Pretty Tough Angels (Agnes Appleby [5’7” 130 lbs.]/ Charlotte Coles [5’3” 122 lbs.]
)
vs
FIC (Lyra Faulk [5’4” 116lbs.]/Harriet Larkin [5’9” 130lbs.])
History was made in tonight first ‘Queens of the Ring’ TM battle at a house show in Ocala. The teams honored with starting the 20-team fight for glory showed the distinctiveness likely to be presented throughout the long and winding road leading to the installations of the new Queens.
In one corner, the Pretty Tough Angels represented a long-time and long-suffering tandem looking to break out of their struggles and catch lightning in a bottle. On the other, fresh newcomers FIC brought the excitement of the unknown into the ring.
Agnes and Harriet opened the match, each showing a reticence to make the first mistake in the opening seconds of the tourney’s inauguration. A collar-and-elbow brought the women together and the former schoolteacher took it upon herself to train the rookie, twisting the leggy redhead into a side headlock. Agnes whipped Harriet off to the ropes and the two met mid-ring, slamming dipped shoulders into the other, no one coming out the winner.
Determined to make a lasting first impression, Larkin took off for the cables behind her and again roared back at a waiting Appleby who slipped to the side and introduced Harriet’s nose to the canvas with a drop toe hold.
The brunette scrambled atop her foe’s back, snatching an arm as she did and quickly applied a crossface chickenwing that had Larkin understanding the big leagues were a whole different level. The pale beauty from New Mexico grimaced and yipped in pain while Agnes wrenched at both arm and neck.
The noob showed immediate fight, forcing her way up despite Appleby’s best efforts. But Agnes transitioned out of the hammerlock to a side headlock and towed Larkin along for the ride, PLANTING Harriet’s forehead into the deck with a nasty bulldog that put PTA in early control.
Later…
From behind, Agnes had a tight waistlock cinched around a struggling Harriet’s midriff and the feisty Angel showed she could teach deadlifting at her elementary school if they wished to start a class. Showing remarkable strength Agnes vaulted a slack Larkin off her feet and tossed her up and over with a gutwrench suplex that left Harriet in a wincing, spine-curving arch. Larkin sat up and reached an arm for her likewise stretched partner Lyra, but Appleby put the clamps on from behind.
Later…
The slow start for the rookies continued as a recently-tagged and fresh Charlotte rocked a reeling Harriet with a series of chops to the chest, a red welt line growing on the alabaster skin of her foe. Coles tried to whip Harriet into the ropes but Larkin reversed, sending the pink-clad blonde for the ride. But instead of the standard rebound, Charlotte leapt into the middle cable, grabbing the top, and decked the charging Harriet with a springboard back elbow. An attempt at a crossbody pin got only a one-count.

Later…
The early schooling of the lanky redhead came to an end in emphatic fashion when Coles took to the ropes for momentum, targeting the wobbling Larkin for a ‘Pink Lightning’ spear, but Harriet got one of those long ivory stems elevated and absolutely levelled Charlotte with a Big Boot that left the blonde laid out, green eyes glazed.
Later…
Having wisely turned the keys over to her partner Lyra, the Physics phenom applied some of her knowledge of force, momentum and gravity to send Charlotte flying all over the ring with a series of armdrags. After the last, Faulk scrambled to a corner and stalked the dizzied blonde, waiting for the perfect moment to launch and NAIL Charlotte with the Edge of Chaos, a turnbuckle superkick whose impact got the FAWNatics chanting ‘HOLY SHIT’ and a glassy-eyed Coles flexing her jaw. An attempt at a crossbody pin collected a strong two-count.
Later…
Harriet got to show off her power with the smaller PTA member. After ragdolling the beleaguered blonde in a reverse bearhug, the redhead converted the embrace into a deadlift German Suplex that rattled Coles and left her matbound, cradling her head with both arms.
Later…
The rookie had Charlotte on the run with an Irish Whip to the rubber-coated steel strands. Coles rebounded toward the stationed and dipping Harriet. Thinking she could leap frog, tried to go over but the leggy redhead caught Coles on the way up and treated the blonde to a trip to Alabama with a nasty Slam that again left the Angel on the deck, increasingly dazed from another seemingly concussive landing, Charlotte left splayed at FIC feet.

Later…
Lyra’s back in with the put-upon blonde. The speedy brunette showed considerable agility, first dropping Charlotte like a bad habit with a spinning heel kick then heading to the nearest corner to up the stakes, offering PTA a lesson in Entropy, the Australian turning Coles into an ivory-skinned grease spot with a 630 senton. An attempt at a domineering foot-on-chest pin garnered a two-and-a-half count.

Later…
Lyra has Coles set up center stage and spread on the mat like butter on toast. She sprinted to the ropes to Charlotte’s side and leapt out of a somersault to bring down some Rolling Thunder across the blonde’s chest, but Coles got her knees up and skewered the previously rampaging rookie. As Faulk hugged her tummy and struggled to her feet, the scrambling blonde tagged in her dark-haired partner. Agnes charged the rising Lyra and gutted her with a toe kick before collecting the rookie with a front facelock and taking her to the canvas with a spinning neckbreaker. An attempt at a pin got a threatening two-and-a-half count.

Later…
More familiar with PTA, the FAWNatics roared when Agnes had a wailing Lyra in a Sharpshooter, the brunette Brainiac a howling mess, the crowd chanting “TAP…TAP…TAP”. Lyra clawed her way to within a few inches of salvation but Appleby drew Faulk back to the center for the eventual submission. One problem. Harriet had a very different idea and rammed the back of Appleby’s skull with a raised knee to save her partner from her fate.
Later…
Charlotte has a reeling Lyra side by side, the blonde’s head tucked under Faulk’s near arm. Coles vaulted her brunette high, legs pointed to the rafters. The PTA member spun to the ropes, letting the rookie’s legs drop across the top rope to use the cable to spring Lyra over for a supercharged suplex. The crowd waited for the three-count but Charlotte could only hang on for two.
Later…
Charlotte heaved Lyra to the ropes and NAILED a returning Faulk with a big back body drop. Instead of going for another pin, Coles plucked her foe off the canvas and sent her off again, dipping for a second toss of the brunette into the Orlando night. But Harriet is there to halt her partner, grabbing Lyra at the ropes and slipping her to the outside. A flustered Coles charged the combined FIC to send them sprawling, but Lyra, having grabbed the middle rope, flung herself through the breach and speared the holy hell out the advancing blonde with the ‘Arrow of Time’ slingshot spear. A quickly constructed crossbody pin got two-and-three-quarters.
Later…
With a gutted Charlotte writhing on the canvas and a harried Lyra sitting on the apron’s edge in recovery mode, a newly legal Harriet entered with a sneer creasing her lips. Scraping Charlotte off the canvas, she trussed the flaccid blonde in a pair of underhooks, swung a long, ivory-skinned leg back then forward and SPIKED Charlotte’s skull into the deck with her Falls the Shadow, the limp body of the PTA member somersaulting to a motionless starfish. An arrogant press pin was plenty for an anticlimactic THREE.
The crowd showed muted appreciation for the newcomers as Harriet pushed to her feet and hovered over the demolished Coles. Lyra quickly joined her and when Agnes entered to check on her fallen friend the duo bum-rushed the brunette back out of the ring, throwing her over the top and to the floor far below.
After Faulk took a detour to the FIC corner, Harriet is handed a can of black Krylon by her beaming partner. The teammates shared a long, sensual hug before Larkin broke free and dropped to one knee. The redhead rolled Charlotte to her chest and shook the can.
The infamous graffiti artist kept things simple…spraying out ‘LOSER’ across the broken blonde’s back. That didn’t make the team many friends in the audience but the rookies seemed more than happy to add insult to injury, having picked up the win in this play-in round match-up, FIC moving into the tourney proper where 16 teams would try to find a way to become the two-and-only Queens of the Ring.
