Description: On paper, Makki was born to be a wrestler. Both of her parents were wrestlers. Both of her grandfathers were, as well as one of her grandmothers. And so on. And Makki grew up surrounded by wrestling. Her parents took her to shows, including ones they were in. Most of the wrestlers were just aunts and uncles to her and, when her father died when she was thirteen, some stepped in to help her mother more directly in her rearing. So it makes total sense that Makki would be a wrestler. Everything about her life seems geared towards it.
Except her size.
“Petite” is a kind way of putting it, and an understatement. Unlike the rest of her family, Makki is tiny. She got her mother's generous curves but not her stronger build. This isn't to say she's weak. She's got strength. But every attempt to bulk up backfired, and actually resulted in losing weight.
When her mother, Rosa, realized Makki would always be one of the smaller fighters (and that her daughter would never give up her dream of following family tradition), the two spent Makki's early career learning and training under some of the finest high flyers they could find in North and South America. And while most of her family is known for power or technical tactics, Makki is the one Cortina who can really take flight. In fact, her skillset seems to greatly compliment her mother's so they work together as a mother-daughter tag team, and her bubbly, overflowing personality contrasts her mother's enough to draw in fans. Like most offspring, though, Makki is always keen to strike out on her own.
