Background: Aloisia's life could have turned out very different. She was born to a single mother, a
college professor, who died after complication in delivery. She was adopted by her mother's closest
friends, two visiting professors who soon returned to the then West German city of Munich. Aloisia
had a happy childhood that only suffered a spot of problems.
Aloisia stood out from the other German children. Dark skinned, dark haired. She was obviously not
what most people even in Post-War Germany considered truly German. This made her the frequent
target of bullying and beatings. Her father, who'd boxed as a younger man, taught his daughter two
important things. First, how to fight back and defend herself. Second, he taught her to try to
understand why others are violent and want to fight, to look at their motivations. The tiny Aloisia took
both lessons to heart and excelled.
As she grew older, Aloisia and more interested in combat. She was destined to be an academic as her
adopted parents and birth mother were, but she again turned to the question of what makes people fight
and how they fight. The science and art of combat became almost an obsession and, fortunately for
her, she found many like-minded individuals. As an undergrad she boxed in a non-school league and
wrestled for her university. By her masters, she'd dabbled in other forms of fighting, mastering none
but taking bits and writing papers and histories of combat her fellow students and professors took great
interest int.
Now a PhD, Aloisia has had the privilege of traveling most of the globe to learn about other forms of
fighting, although most of her papers and books have focused on wrestling. She's been in minor feds in
Europe, Australia, Japan, the U.S, and South America. While not a star, she's far from a slouch, either,
because wrestling isn't just something she studies the history, culture, and technique of. It's something
she simply loves.
