Gimmick: Flexible Indian yoga practitioner born into the lower castes who dreams of upward mobility.
Fighting Style: Defensive Gymnast (with a fondness for schoolyard humiliations). Relies
heavily on reversals and using her opponents movements against them.
Background: Born as the youngest of six children to poor parents in the Vaishya caste, her
father was a construction worker and her mother a servant in a wealthy household. Being the only daughter of the family, Kali grew up wrestling with her brothers and playing sports in the
streets as a young girl. Every morning, Kali would wake up and do yoga with her mother, which made her very flexible -- a feat she still maintains. She also worked alongside her mother as a maid in her youth and, as a result, didn't have very many friends growing up.
As she grew up, Kali worked several jobs tirelessly all through her schooling and graduated with high marks. After graduation, Kali moved to Dubai where she worked as a low paid IT consultant and consequently learned English. In the evenings, she discovered her calling when she enrolled in an underground female wrestling circuit under the name "Bengali Kali".
After several years in Dubai, Kali won several light weight titles and built up a small following (and small fortune) which allowed her to quit her day job and finally leave India. With the intention to study abroad in the US, leaving her wrestling dreams behind.
Eventually, Kali bought an apartment in Orlando Florida, where (through word of mouth) she discovered the FAWN wrestling league. After watching several of these brutal matches, Kali's passion for wrestling was reinvigorated and she abandoned her academic aspirations. Her choice greatly angered her parents, but Kali recognized her calling and auditioned to join FAWN.
