Name: Kaya & Kasa Halfmoon
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 135lbs
Date of Birth: 4/23/83
Hometown: Standing Rock Reservation, ND
Fighting Attire: The sisters wear a variety of stylish one-pieces of various designs and colors. They always wear identical attire in their matches.
Physical Description: Relatively slim yet strong and firm, the sisters have long flowing black hair and dark eyes.
Heel/Face: Heels
Gimmick: Although proud of their Native American heritage, they do not employ the visual trappings of the traditional and/or fictional Indian look. They do carry chips on their shoulders regarding the history of Native Americans, and claim that every victory they share over the “white eyes” wins back a bit more honor for their people.
Fighting Style: The Halfmoons blend a mélange of technical grappling, acrobatics, and rule breaking.
Finishing Moves:
Kaya: Inverted Indian Deathlock Cradle (The victim is on their stomach; Kaya crosses one ankle into the crook of the victim's other knee. Kaya uses the back of their leg to apply pressure to the hold. Kaya grabs both the victim's arms and then rolls to a side and onto their back. As they roll over, the victim is rolled over as well with their legs still entangled and flipped onto their shoulders with Kaya holding their arms.)
Kasa: Bow & Arrow Cradle. The victim is on the mat face-down. Kasa places both of her knees on the victim’s back and places one arm around the victim's neck and the other around one or both legs. From this position, Kasa leans backwards until she is on her back and the victim is lifted in the air. Kasa leans to one side, pinning the victim's shoulders to the mat.
Together: The “Uprising/Massacre”. One places an opponent face-down on the mat, stands between her legs and waist locks her, then executes a Wheelbarrow Suplex. The other sits atop the nearest turnbuckle, and delivers the killing blow in any number of ways, from a Frog Splash to a Knee Drop, and anything in between.
Background: Identical twins, the Halfmoons are members of the Lakota Sioux. Equal parts truants, tomboys and troublemakers growing up, they escaped the rather limited opportunities of the reservation at the young age of 15, traveling with their uncle, a pro wrestler called Chief John Bear, and very quickly finding work themselves in the various small indy feds their journeyman uncle worked for throughout the Midwest and up in Canada as his long career wound down. In time, Kaya and Kasa developed reputations as a tough, skilled, and ruthless tag team. Still, opportunities for the big time never seemed to materialize, which added a layer of personal bitterness to the resentment over the treatment of their people they had grown up with. At last given an opportunity to prove themselves in FAWN, their aim is nothing less than to become the greatest tag team in the history of women’s wrestling.
Working exclusively as a team, the twins have developed into an exceptionally efficient duo. They also make use of the fact that they are identical, and thus able to fool most referees as to which sister is the legal woman in the ring.
Note: Although the official name of their tag team is “War Party,” they are also sometimes known as the “Teton Twins,” Teton being another name for the Lakota.
