Gretchen strolls through the large door to the mansion, tossing her bag down on a chair. The Gold Digger twirls around smiling and lets out a very contented sigh. The Trophy Wife replays the night in her head as she drops down into another chair in the reception area of the mansion. Saving Bunny Cooper had not been her plan, but it was strangely…Fun…To play the hero. Giggling Gretchen’s next thought though was how much more fun it was to take out Alexis and Cricket afterwards.
Still a few weeks from the Heartbroken pay-per-view, Gretchen didn’t have a match, but she had already decided that she would be at the show. The One Woman Shopping Spree stands and heads towards the kitchen. Somehow the cheering FAWNatics made her hungrier than normal. She starts across the long room when she hears, “That was an interesting display tonight.”
The voice was clearly her husband Lyle VanBuren. She turns smiling. “Honey, I didn’t know you watched the House Shows? Yes I’m sure it was, and right now I bet Portia and her little friends are whining about now.”
Lyle moves down the steps, a smile on his face, but Gretchen knows that smile, Lyle is neither happy or pleased. Lyle reaches the floor. Walking over, he puts his arms on his wife’s shoulders, “Sweetie, I didn’t just put the ban on you and Portia so you two wouldn’t kill each other. I put the ban in effect so the two of you could both succeed without interfering with each other.”
Gretchen pouts, “She started it.”
Lyle massages the brunette’s shoulders, “That’s not the point, I’m taking an interest in your and Portia’s work and I can guide the two of you.”
The Gold Digger leans forward kissing her husband, “Honey, why don’t you take care of our money, and I’ll take care of FAWN.”
Lyle looks into Gretchen’s eyes, “Now Gretchen, that’s not what we agreed. You know you and Portia are both too emotional when it comes to work. So you both agreed to follow my instructions. I’m only involved because you and Portia needed it, or you two would go off on trying to destroy each other and miss all the other opportunities.”
Gretchen pouts, “Lyle please, we both know other than the hot bodies you have no interest in the wrestling business.” She kisses him again. “I’m hungry, can we talk about this later.”
Lyle smiles the same smile. “Sure.”
Turning and wiggling her backside Gretchen looks over her shoulder, “After I get some food lets meet in the bedroom.”
Lyle just nods and watches his wife go. When Gretchen disappears Lyle continues watching the empty space. Walking out of the study that sets off the reception area, Portia Ophelia VanBuren IV moves to his side. “I told you Daddy, Gretchen just doesn’t understand business.”
Lyle brings a hand to his bearded chin thinking, “Very well Portia. If Gretchen continues to go after you through your Associates consider the ban lifted.”
Portia smiles slyly. “Thank you, Daddy.” She moves to tiptoes and place a soft peck on his cheek.
Lyle's only child heads for the door, but stops as she turns the knob. “You’re making the right choice, Daddy. Like always.”
