Name: Sonja Rothschild
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 122lbs
Hometown: Fairfax, VA
Fighting Attire: A classic red one piece. White boots, with "SR" monogrammed on them.
Heel/Face: Heel
Gimmick: The next generation of a notorious heel family
Fighting Style: Cheater/Technician, with a little catfighter thrown in
Finishing Move: Rothschild Lock (standing camel clutch)
Description:
Sonja Rothschild represents the third generation of the Rothschild wrestling
family, one of the most notorious heel clans of the last 60 years. Her grandfather, Stephane
Rothschild, was a Frenchman renowned for his mastery of the claw who came to the United
States in the 1940's. Her mother, Seraphine Rothschild, followed in his footsteps wrestling
from the early 1960's into the late 1980's, and was best known for her Rothschild Lock camel
clutch variant. From her birth, it was expected that Sonja would continue the family tradition--
which was a good thing, because growing up around the business, she never wanted to do
anything else.
Sure enough, Sonja made her debut in late 1999, and has known some measure of success on
the independent circuit--especially in New England. But the problem with being from the
lineage of legends is that "some success" is not nearly sufficient. Sonja has yet to live up to the
expectations placed upon her as being the next Rothschild. Couple this with her own nature as a
perfectionist, and this has become something of a vicious circle: with each failed attempt to
reach the next level, she places even more pressure on herself to get there, which often results
in greater struggles.
She's not an unskilled athlete, by any means. Indeed, she's managed to incorporate both her
mother's Rothschild Lock and her grandfather's clawholds into her arsenal. But she has become
increasingly cruel and mean-spirited as her career has worn on, becoming more and more
inclined to take cheap shots and use any resources at her disposal to achieve victory. The only
thing Sonja Rothschild cares about is winning, and she doesn't care what she has to do, who she
has to hurt, or how badly she has to hurt them to do it.
