Description:
It was once impossible to tell the story of Olivia Barker without Polly Lockwood.
Polly and Olivia are a study in contrasts. Polly is the daughter of a pair of college professors (her father in English, her mother in Philosophy) from New York, while Olivia grew up the daughter of a Baptist minister in the heart of Teas. Polly has always been a free spirit, encouraged by her parents to constantly explore any interests that catch her fancy and push her boundaries. Olivia, on the other hand, has spent her youth as a straight-laced, respectful, conscientious young lady. Polly's parents enthusiastically supported her decision to pursue a wrestling career, while Olivia's were a little more reluctant in theirs.
Five months ago, Polly and Olivia's paths crossed during Olivia's first trip to wrestle in New England. At one show, Barker was basically fed to the wolves by a local promoter, scheduled to face their champion who was 15 years older and more experienced, 7 inches taller and almost 40lbs heavier. And despite all those handicaps, Olivia came extremely close to pulling off the upset, on a number of occasions. This didn't set too well with the champ, who after the bell decided she was going to make an example of the spunky challenger. Being a visitor to the promotion, Olivia had no friends in the locker room, and so had no one she could expect to come to her aid.
But help did come, in the form of Polly Lockwood. The element of surprise allowed the diminutive Lockwood to run her off, and Polly then helped Barker back to the dressing room. To show her gratitude, Olivia bought Polly dinner that night, and a friendship was born. When Olivia returned to Texas, Polly came with her, and the two formed a tag team that took the Lone Star State by storm. Their rapid ascension, crowned by winning the Lone Star Tag Team championship just three months after their debut, caught the eye of FAWN's scouting department, who swooped in to sign the young duo to a deal.
Not everyone was impressed, however. Specifically, Olivia's father was less than pleased by the bond developing between his daughter and Polly, who he viewed as a bad, corrupting influence on his precious angel. This view was only confirmed in his eyes when Polly convinced Olivia to join her in FAWN, an organization against whom he has often called for boycotts against and has campaigned to remove from the airwaves.
Their tenure in FAWN produced tremendous success--including a tag team championship. But eventually, Polly would betray Olivia, leaving Barker to try to rebuild her career solo.
