Description:
Serena grew up in a poor working class family in a community hit hard by the loss of local
industry. She proved to be a willful and difficult child, frequently getting into trouble for both her
mouth and her actions. Never terribly interested in school, about the only thing that did command her
attention was the wrestling team; she made history as the first female captain of a co-ed public high
school team in Western Pennsylvania.
College never being an option worth considering, Serena at a young age decided instead to pursue her
interest in pro wrestling. She got started at 14 in a local backyard fed, and by 16 was undertaking
legitimate training. By the time she (barely) graduated high school, she was already a fixture on the
small circuit of indy feds strung across the ‘Rust Belt’ of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
For the next five years, she continued to work predominantly in the Midwest, with occasional tours of
Mexico, the Caribbean and Canada, building a rep as a solid performer that eventually caught the
attention of FAWN.
Muir refers to her style of wrestling as ''The Grind'', meaning that her intent is to wear down an
opponent physically and mentally, and break down her defenses. And while Serena concedes that she
doesn’t always win every battle, she continues to grind down her opponents, until eventually she wins
the war.
