BACKGROUND: Born in Cambridge, England as the middle child of 3, Jenny Morgan grew up in an upper-middle class family. Her interests in sports were always encouraged by her parents, as every four years she lived and died for the Olympics and for her home country. She was such a sports fan, her parents were surprised to see Jenny watching professional wrestling with her older sister Cleo. They were even more surprised to see how much she enjoyed it. Her parents quickly stifled her new interests, pushing her back into more mainstream sports as Jenny constantly went around their back to watch in secret with her more rebellious sister Cleo.
Once Cleo graduated and moved away, Jenny was pushed full time into school athletics, her motivation to be the best and to impress her parents driving her to new heights as she began to place higher and higher in each school event. Eventually she was winning first place in inter-school events and drawing attention from colleges for her speed and indomitable drive.
Once she graduated to college and moved into the dorms, she was slowly introduced back into wrestling, specifically FAWN and quickly began to fall in love all over again as she did when she was a kid. She was still winning events, albeit at a collegiate level, as Relay Races, Sprints and Middle Race events became her bread and butter. Her athletics always came first, but she found herself watching more and more professional wrestling, even branching out to watch lesser known indies as professional wrestling became her second life.
Failure was not something Jenny experienced often, but when she did, it never went well. She was never one to pout or complain but instead she would lock herself away in anger, always looking frustrated as she stormed off the field. Her turning point was a shot at the Olympics, or the training squad that is. Jenny failed to make the cut while competing against the best of the best, placing well but not well enough to get her in. Jenny's frustration nearly unraveled there and then on the track, her face one of stern anger and disappointment as she sulked away, thinking her life of track was over, her peak reached. She began to fall into depression, thinking everything she worked for was for nothing when she got a call from her sister Cleo, congratulating her for such an effort and for even making it as far as she did to even be considered for the Olympics. Jenny was happy to hear from her sister, the first time she had heard from her in quite a long time when her sister offered her the role of a life time. Cleo had pursued her dream of wrestling and was working for a small time indie company in Newcastle, where she was now in charge of talent scouting. Remembering her sister's interest, she offered Jenny a chance, noting that everybody she had talked to loved her look and wanted to take a chance with her athleticism. Jenny jumped on the other, dropping everything she had worked so hard on to follow her dream.
After brainstorming a ring-name and look with her sister, Everly Knight was born! Knight was a star from the get-go picking up the ropes of the business quickly as she impressed everyone who watched her training with the small time company. She was still naturally a bit green, but her presence and determination led her to becoming a quick local star in the small indie company, impressing over the hill veterans, management and the crowd as she began to quickly make a name for herself as one to watch on the British independent scene. Their was one obstacle Everly always had in the ring though and that was her fear of the top rope. She always refused to go that one extra turnbuckle up, freezing and turning around before she'd climb up. Nobody knew quite why Knight refused to go all the way to the top, as she hit her finisher Knightfall from the middle rope instead. Though a bit reserved, Jenny was still friendly to talent backstage, making a name in the locker room for being kind but shy, with a temper when things went wrong. Cleo and management thought they finally had a star in the making, someone to break them through to the next level on the indie scene when an unexpected letter arrived for Everly. From FAWN, it described how impressed they were with her quick learning ability and natural athleticism, offering her a short term contract just to see how she'd do on a bigger stage. Cleo was crushed, but knew her sister was onto bigger things, reluctantly showing Everly who jumped on the opportunity. Leaving the very next day, Everly left to make a name for herself on the grandest stage, ready to show what hustle and passion can do as she strives to be the very best. Because for Knight, failure is not an option.
