From the FAWN YouTube channel: Summer Swelter Interview with Lady Lydia Lethbridge
The FAWN logo appears on the screen, then fades to reveal a pretty blonde woman, sitting behind a two-person news desk. On the wall behind her is a large monitor that is currently displaying the FAWN logo
“Good evening, FAWNatics, and welcome! I’m Mel Sutton, FAWN’s Social Media Director, interviewer, and host of the official FAWN YouTube channel.” The blonde begins by introducing herself, as always.
MEL SUTTON:
Mel continues as the camera pulls back to reveal her guest, sitting in the chair next to her, looking quite bored. “My guest at this time is fresh off her victorious FAWN debut against Kanako Akiyama, in what will undoubtedly be the first of many wins here, she is Lady Lydia Lethbridge. Lydia, welcome to the studio.”
LYDIA LETHBRIDGE
Lydia is wearing a royal blue and crimson sundress, that hides her impressive cleavage a bit better than her normal ring attire does. She also wears the battle scars she suffered at Kanako’s hands earlier, namely a black eye and a couple stitches on her split lip. She sneers at Mel and points an accusatory finger at the journalist, “First off, you’re welcome. Secondly, don’t you dare address me by my first name again! You haven’t earned that privilege.”
“U-uh...well…” Mel stammers, caught off-guard by the Blueblood’s aggression, but she quickly recovers, “Last month, you made a very violent arrival to FAWN, blasting your opponent tonight, Kanako Akiyama, with a steel chair. Now tonight, the ringside microphones caught your conversation with her, so now we know why you chose her as a target.” Lydia chuckles to herself as Mel recounts her actions, clearly quite pleased with herself, so much so that she almost misses Mel’s question, “Do you feel you got a measure of revenge against Kanako for, as you put it, stealing six months of your FAWN career?”
“Honestly?” Lady Lydia begins, “Not even close. I had to start all over to re-earn my place here - a spot that should’ve been mine from the very start, mind you! One win isn’t going to make up for six months of clawing and scraping and climbing my way back up to where I’d been.”
Mel nods, “I see. Then do you mean to face Kanako again next month?”
Lydia shrugs at that, “I’m sure that little toerag will complain to the powers that be, and demand a rematch. I’ll be more than happy to oblige, of course, and the outcome will be no different.” she answers with a carelessness in her voice.
Mel nods again whilst going over her notes, “Well, considering the controversial nature of how the match ended, I’m sure the front office will indeed be ordering a rematch between you two. Moving on…”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Lydia interrupts, her voice raised in anger, “The hell are you talking about “controversial”? I beat that bitch fair and square, one...two...three! Period, end of story!”
Another woman’s voice calls from the doorway, “Really, Lethbridge? That’s how you’re going to play it? You’re going to play dumb?” With that a visibly angry Kanako Akiyama stomps into the studio, still wearing her ring gear.
KANAKO AKIYAMA
“You’re seriously going to tell Mel, me, and everybody watching, that you’re okay with taking a win that way?” she demanded, pounding her fists on the desk, prompting both Mel and Lydia to stand up. Lydia faced off with her rival from across the table while Mel slowly backed away.
“I haven’t the slightest idea what you’re talking about, Akiyama!” Lydia snarled.
“Oh, please,” Kanako replied, rolling her eyes, “don’t bullshit me, Lydia! Your ego being what it is, I know damn well that you’ve watched the replay of you pinning me about a hundred times already!” Lydia chuckled and smirked at that, her mirth giving up none of her maliciousness for the Japanese girl. “My...foot...was...on...the...rope!” Kanako asserted with a low growl, her anger smoldering.
“Oh, is that right?” The Brit mocked her, “Well, tell me something...who won that match, hm? Who got their hand raised? Me, that’s who! And that’s all that matters, so go cry your sad song to someone who cares.”
Kanako growls and tips over the desk, causing Mel to yelp and retreat even farther. “So that’s it? You’re a-okay with hanging an asterisk on your first win here?” Lydia answers with a smirk as the two women, no longer separated by a desk, go nose to nose. “Well, that’s fine, I guess.” Kanako answers Lydia’s silent reply. “It’s a good thing Merle actually has a conscious, then. He went right to the brass and admitted he’d blown it. And Mel called it, they’ve already given me a rematch. So, I’ll see you at Red, White, and Bruised, you rotten bitch.”
Her Ladyship scoffed at Kanako’s bravado, her smug smirk never leaving her lips. “So be it,” she answered sweetly, “I look forward to again showing the world, that you’re nothing...but a scrub...who can’t get the job done when it counts.”
Kanako’s eyes went wide and her pupils dilated. Those were Kanako’s exact words when she expressed to the FAWN faithful the self-doubt she was feeling after losing to AJ Swann. Having that thrown back in her face by the woman she hated was too much. With a roar of fury, Kanako pulled back and began wailing on Lydia, just as she had done before the start of their match earlier. Lydia was caught by surprise, but was also quick to retaliate, hammering her assailant with heavy fists. Above the two women shouting, Mel yelled out to the hallway, pleading for some help to separate the two brawling women. Unlike in the ring, Kanako had used her left hand to grab a massive handful of the Brit’s hair as she punched. Unfortunately, Kanako’s hair was still to short for Lydia to respond in kind, so she had to settle for getting a handhold by Kanako’s top.
Soon, officials were pouring into the studio, trying to pull them apart. In the ensuing scrum of at least a dozen bodies, Lydia’s grip on the strap of Kanako’s tankini top caused the fabric to snap, rendering the Japanese girl topless, not that she cared, still desperately clawing and swinging at the British Blueblood even as the mass of FAWN officials finally managed to prise them apart.
“All right! ALL RIGHT!!” Lydia screams, both at the officials and at her rival, her British accent becoming much more pronounced in her anger, “That’s how you want to play it, Akiyama? Then meet me at Red, White and Bruised in an APARTMENT HOUSE MATCH, EUROPEAN RULES!!”
Kanako didn’t need even a moment to consider the brunette’s challenge, “You got it, you fucking slag! You’d better get ready, bitch, because I’m going to make sure you have the shortest career in FAWN history!!”
“Bring it on, cunt!” Lydia answers, still struggling against the sea of humanity to get at Kanako, “In one month’s time, you’re going to become my bitch!!”
Kanako kicks and curses at the officials, screaming at Lydia as they drag her out the door, “I’m gonna tear you apart, you fucking whore! This is just the beginning, you hear me??! THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!!”
The camera fades to black as Mel scurries to restore her studio to some semblance of order, the enraged screams of both women still echoing from opposite hallways.
