Description: Shelby has never been under any illusions about where she stands in society. Born to blue collar factory workers in a trailer park bath tub, the world let her know early on she was on one of the bottom rungs of society's ladder. The youngest of four, and the lone child with no record, Shelby grew up running around the woods and the trailer park, causing mischief and having fun. Family quality time was T.V. dinners and wrestling. Her favorites, of course, were all the women's feds. She loved PLIW, Ring of Beauty, Sven's – and when her parents went to bed, she'd unscramble some of the cable channels to watch IFWF, EWW, and her favorite – FAWN. Shelby probably got in trouble more for that than all the “accidents” involving fireworks and gas canisters.
Bored with public school, Shelby dropped out in her sophomore year and got her GED. She got a couple of jobs – one as a waitress in a sports bar and the other collecting trash. It wasn't glamorous but it let her save up enough to take over another trailer in the park she grew up in. And she was happy but not fulfilled. Was this it? Just working, coming home, watching wrestling and drinking beer?
Everything changed when a local promotion held a show at the bar Shelby worked at. They were short a wrestler and asked Shelby if she wanted in the ring. The bar's owner consented so Shelby hammered together some ring gear with a swimsuit in her truck. But while preparing, she overheard a ring vet named Tortura Delacuerpa badmouthing Shelby for being “white trash.” Shelby was angry – not because she was called white trash. She was and she owned it. But for anyone acting like growing up in the park's culture was less than them. Grabbing a few beer cans and her pocketknife, Shelby cobbled together a makeshift tiara to wear to the ring and announced herself as Shelby Mustang, the Trailer Park Princess. She was an immediate fan favorite and managed to eek out a win on the larger vet, sending the interloper off with her tail between her legs (and promising revenge). Thus began Shelby's career in the indies and backyard wrestling promotions.
It hasn't been easy, either. A smaller girl who often bites off more than she can chew, Shelby has taken more than her share of losses. But she's also taken more wins than anyone thought she could and her “never say die” attitude has gotten her through some hard times. As far as style goes, Shelby still remembers how over-the-top wrestling was when she grew up watching it. That's her dream – to do harrowing stunts and fights most people wouldn't even consider an option. If she can fly off of it or put someone through it, she wants to try it. If that doesn't do it for fans, her redneck pixie manner usually wins fans over easily. That's probably why the FAWN talent scouts first noticed her. And now, she's on to the biggest chapter in her life, promising to represent all the good things that played a big part in her life.
