BACKGROUND:
Honey Blossom Harris grew up the youngest of four children, and the only one born to her mother, Taylor Kennedy Harris. Her three half brothers were all from the previous marriage of her widowed father, Nicholas Harris. Her father was a high ranking telecom executive, while her mother was a successful athlete, having been a member of the women’s national football team.
Given that background, it was hardly surprising that Honey found herself drawn to athletic pursuits from a fairly early age. Initially, she followed in her mother’s footsteps by devoting herself to the beautiful game. But it wasn’t long before Honey found herself drawn to a different pursuit. Enthralled by the exploits of the likes of Rick Sinclair and Shea London, among others, Honey soon found herself wanting to become a professional wrestler.
Her parents were less than supportive. Her father saw pro wrestling as rather crass and beneath his precious girl, while Taylor would have preferred to see her continue in football—especially with as good as she was. (Indeed, there had already been speculation that Honey would be able to qualify for the national team in a couple of years.)
Honey, however, would not be deterred. In secret, she enrolled in wrestling classes at 15—and she showed a natural affinity, particularly impressing her trainers with her agility and foot work. (An artifact of her football background?) She made her in-ring debut at 16, working for a local promotion on the weekends, still not daring to tell her parents until she reached the age of 18. Once a legal adult, Honey devoted herself full-time to the ring, and quickly built a reputation as one the most exciting young talents to emerge in Europe.
Her athleticism made her popular with promoters, but the combination of that ability and boundless enthusiasm made her an immediate hit with audiences. As “uncool” as it has almost become in the modern age, she is the epitome of the white meat babyface: the first in the building in the morning, the last to leave at night, always fighting to her last ounce of strength has been exhausted in the ring and always ready to greet a fan with a smile and a hug outside of it. She even has an almost comical aversion to profanity, which on her seems somehow endearing.
Factoring in the blonde locks, and some have naturally speculated about her perhaps being the heir apparent to the legacy of one of her role models—though both her vocabulary and her elocution are considerably better.
