Another Successful FAWN PPV (7 Matches of FAWN greatness with an 8th to come). January turned out to be a difficult month for many of the FAWN writers, hopefully February will be better.
Which matches were your favorite? Which surprised you? What did you think of the matches? Who would you like to see in the Future? Feel free to leave any feedback.
And On to Heartbroken next.

Rough couple of weeks for many of us, but another amazing card nonetheless, and a special thanks to bigfan and walkindude for coordinating the RoY tournament.
Zoe vs. Tulip: Her skills can't be denied, but Zoe is just a nasty, nasty piece of work. Just unnecessary cruelty to have her muscle/enforcer Isobel flatten Tulip when Tulip was already reeling and on the ropes. Sends a message to the rest of the roster I guess, though I think constantly double teaming your opponent with your mercenary backup is just a fantastic way to make enemies. Color me curious to see if a savvy opponent might pay Cassandra Vale, FAWN's infamous bartender / muscle for hire, to even the scales in a potential showdown against Zoe.
Maddy vs. JJ: It seems like Maddy has taken her game to the next level in the last year. Jenny is of course headliner and championship material, and Crane is giving her all she can handle. Regardless of how the best of 5 ultimately plays out, it seems that Maddy is poised for big things in 2017, and maybe even a title shot. IMO this series is going to do for her what the Lenore / Olivia series did for the Raven.
Astrid vs. Harley Jo: Rather surprising that HJC encountered Astrid in Japan, of all places. Presumably HJC gut-busted and belly-clawed the newcomer into submission back then as she did now, and it'll be interesting to see what countermeasures Astrid takes in their next tete-a-tete. Justine Freeborne is a complication as well -- do I smell Triple Threat match? Astrid's interest in fear has me wondering as well -- will it ultimately reveal something about herself, or is she planning some long term mind games against the rest of the roster / a target in particular?
Estrina vs. Caity: Very unfortunate that Estrina is in this at substantially less than 100%, and I fear her back condition would only get worse as the tournament goes on. I have to think that long term it might have been more prudent to heal and rehab rather than forge onward, but clearly missing out on a chance to represent her entire region is not something that Estrina could not stomach. Tough loss for Caity too, and I'm at least a little disappointed that we didn't get a chance to see her face off against Anna, just to see how the both of them would react. Now that she's out of the tournament, however, I would expect to see her ringside at all of Anna's matches for as long as Sharpe is in it.
Azul vs. Roulette: Rough outing for the fledgling superhero, seemed to struggle versus the clown's size and viciousness. I'm sure she'll bounce back, and she's got Crimson Dawn in her corner as well. Roulette's interactions with her manager are noteworthy, as Solene seems to be tasked with damage control and not entirely enamored with her charge's actions. FAWN has some VERY loose rules though, and if Roulette figures out just how much she can get away with without getting suspended or fired, then that might be bad news for the rest of the roster. Camille, for one, definitely wishes that her next round opponent had been Azul instead.
Jasmine vs. Camille: So many shenanigans from the women who weren't officially in the match. After showing how destructive they could be as a trio in last month's demolition of Lily Burlingame, Kylie and Demetria came in with a plan to help Jasmine into the next round by crook or by hook. They forgot to account for the monkey wrench that is Yoona, however, and they paid the price for that. Jasmine HAS to wonder if things might have turned out differently without interference from either side, but with a potential showdown with the elder Burlingame looming she doesn't have the luxury of dwelling on this loss. Park & Cosworth (sounds like a department store, does it not?) march on to a second round collision with Solene & Roulette, putting one odd couple against another and potentially leading to some fascinating personality clashes.
Shelby vs. Anna: TBD, though I imagine Anna is in a foul mood after seeing her girlfriend take an early exit. Perhaps she has vengeance on her mind, as a victory here would put her against Estrina in the next round. Shelby has her work cut out for her, I think.
Veronica vs. Trisha, WC title: How unfortunate that the Alexis / Veronica pairing has run its course, and I don't think I'm the only one who loved their interactions. Whatever's next for Alexis, and how her time with Veronica might have changed her, definitely has my curiosity piqued. And it might just be me, but it seems that Veronica is using more submissions lately, perhaps as a result of her continued training with Sydney Deschain. Either way she's put together a strong, strong series of defenses, all the while fighting relatively cleanly even when her opponents do not, as was the case here. Trisha's been quiet for the most part in recent times, and a strong (if dirty) showing against the champ is a good reintroduction / coming out party.
Another great job by all the writers, and really looking forward to how ongoing storylines play out for Heartbroken.

As usual my thoughts are a lot more vague than DSB’s but here goes:
Tulip held her own for most of that match, but the low blows hurt her and the apron bomb from Lamont was overkill. Zoe brings a useful weapon down to the ring with her, but she might be better off trying not to use it unless she needs it. That kind of thing does not win friends…
Jacobs vs Crane was a battle. After a relatively friendly first match back in JJ’s IC title days, the second one had a bit more needle, but even after the handshake last time it feels like they’re now into full blown enemy mode. Everyone thought Jenny would ultimately prove just too good, but this is a star-making performance from Maddy. I’d agree with DSB that it’s reminiscent of Lenore vs Olivia, except I think these two have even more actual anger between them than the Raven and the Storm did. When the tie breaker comes, it’s going to be epic.
Harley has been terrorizing FAWN for a long time and despite a valiant effort Astrid just wasn’t quite ready for her. She’s a resourceful lady though, so that might change if there’s a next time. Justine is usually a happy go lucky girl but she’d clearly felt she couldn’t put up with Collins’ previous interference and she released that frustration on both ladies in a very effective way. She’s got a lot more experience than Astrid and a lot more power to bring than most of the roster, so Harley might need to tread careful.
Estrina’s performance was nothing short of miraculous given the back injury. She’ll be relieved to be moving on in the tournament, but I think she’ll want to settle up with Claudia Rooney as quickly as she can. Caity couldn’t capitalize on the injury, but she might be able to take some vicarious revenge if Anna can make it through to the next round. Particularly if Estrina doesn’t take some healing time.
Azul vs Roulette was a chaotic match. Roulette had advantages in experience, size and power, but I think her unpredictability was the biggest problem for Aurora, she just couldn’t hit a rhythm. Lets see how that goes against someone else with plenty of surprises up her sleeve next round. Also, is Yoona going to try doing any more flying knee strikes outside the ring? Cos if she does I feel like with Solene's former wrestling background she might be able to hit back.
The interference levels were monumental in the Cosworth/Washington match, but in the end I feel like Kylie wasn't quite as in tune with Demetria, in the way that Jasmine was when Vanilla Chill took down Lily Burlingame. But then Yoona is an incredibly powerful disrupting influence. Either way, they need to stay sharp if they’ve got Burlingame Senior and her Black Court friends coming at them. Outside of the interference the match was a close one. Jasmine is a great athlete, but those 90 second bursts of awesome are so hard to deal with. Camille’s odds are looking good having come through that.
That world title fight was utterly brutal. Veronica had taken a beating before the match even started ,and she was up against a lot of power and a whole lot of meanness. Trisha feel short, but that was a hell of a way to announce your comeback. DSB mentioned that Veronica’s upped her submission game recently, but she’s also started doing a very good job of targeting body parts (Trisha’s arm, Panny’s knee) with real ruthless precision. It might be that training with Deschain is helping her to get a bit more focused and a bit more nasty, which is a scary prospect since she’s already a very dominant champ.
Incidentally, like DSB I loved Veroxis. I’m kinda sad that Suguitan isn’t following Ronnie around any more, but despite the humiliation factor she’s had a lot of time to get up close and study the champ. Those ladies are currently tied up 2-2 in the career series, and when Alexis eventually decides she wants to prove her superiority she now has a lot more knowledge about her nemesis.
